ALBUM RELEASE: ALL OUR DANCING DAYS

… aka Gimli The Magic Bear

Wham Bam Thank You Mam!

We talked of soul, we talked of Rolling Stones, and we talked of a magical bear called Gimli. It’s been a rush job as per usual, yet in the face of ever increasing demands for our time and ever shortening attention spans, we’re very happy to announce the release of our fourth half-arsed attempt at making Queen Greatest Hits (“Vol I” obviously…)

ALL OUR DANCING DAYS…

Yes, you’ve waited patiently for us to finish our two day recording phase for ALBUM NUMBER 4. Just 11 months after we agreed we’d take a year off, 6 Crypt Covers in, and having released Cotton Wool and Knotted Wood already this year, here she is. Another piece of music so hopefully cast into the digital wilderness. You’ve no doubt been queuing up at the digital door since 7pm yesterday, now we gingerly open the lock to the musical equivalent of the apple store on iPad day hoping you won’t notice that the better screen has killed battery life and you don’t know where you are any more…. Soooo… What do the idiots have to say about it this time?

“This is a record in the truest sense of the word: a record of two months in the band’s life when we locked ourselves in the Crypt with no preconceived ideas, no plan and no expectations and just wrote some music. We armed ourselves with Ray Charles’ Greatest Hits, a VHS copy of The Commitments and a lot of fast food and just played to see what would happen. Basically, this is it. No huge agenda and no point to prove this time. A diary… or… a record.”

All Our Dancing Days is 12 tracks of near-as-dammit live fun made at break-neck speed. We’ve plundered our British Soul heritage for this one so we hope you enjoy… It’s a little rough around the edges but it’s got a lot of heart. Enjoy! Pay What You Want/Think it’s Worth as always…

ALBUM 4 TOUR!

In a near hopeless effort to shop this rusty bag of nails we call an album around, we’re traipsing up and down this rain sodden land we call home in best Troubadour fashion. We started last night (Monday) actually, in Hertford and it seems we might even be able to play some of these new songs live… Just!

I have waited as patiently as I could – thanks for this – will be on my turntable constantly ( obviously when I say turntable I mean phone or computer or CD player when it turns up, and when I say constantly obviously if I need to make a call on my phone I’ll have tp pause it … but you get the picture ! )

What a brilliant album this is. I first found you thru Steve Lawson who shared your great covers. This is magnificent stuff :)
Well done guys… I’d love to see you play, but Scotland is a bit off your radar most of the time (and I missed you in Edinburgh)

I know I say this every time, but I love love love this album. It’s like Stevie Wonder plays Thin Lizzy with the Blues Brothers and the E Street Band, only better, because it all fits together PERFECTLY. Thanks for giving us another splendid set of songs filled with magical musical moments.
