Events

There are some things we do that are a bit more than just a concert and go completely over the top. It usually involves making some art or music with the people who come and play out with us. Got an event coming up? A Party? A work social? Maybe we could look after all the hard bits for you and provide music, food and fun for you?

The Snowball

#hsSnowball

On bitterly cold snowy winters day, with Christmas shoppers going to war all around us in Leeds town centre, we met in four fine ale houses to launch our very own winter beer “Ho-Ho-Hope and Social” made by Leeds Brewery. During the two hour pub crawl that followed our group snowballed in size as we went about learning a multi part choir performance with 200 of our friends. Our voices stretched and our beings oiled, we headed to the town hall steps to gate crash a Satans Slaves wedding, and to perform the frog chorus:

We then boarded old buses to a warm converted victorian school where we ate mince pies, drank mulled wine, decorated a beautiful Christmas tree with pom poms, played secret santa and performed a one off Christmas Big Band show! It was a day filled with Christmas magic shared with great people.

Open Top Bus To The Seaside

#hsFunbus

On a beautiful Indian summers day we took an open top bus full of people to the seaside to play a gig, have a BBQ, and play musical deckchairs.

Too many amazing things happened that day to list here, but if a picture speaks a thousand words, then here set to our song Ripples Rock My Boat, is Will Billany of Trunk Films‘ beautiful document of the day for your delectation.

Read what people thought of this magical day up on the blog and, there are some truly amazing pictures people have taken, uploaded to flickr.com and tagged with “hsfunbus” here.

Come Dine With Us

On a cold winters night we turned our studio into a French bistro for the evening and invited 70 people over for a gourmet dinner and to record this song for our album April. Here’s some lovely video and pictures of the night courtesy of the brilliant 3B Media chaps.

Documentary about what went on and how we ran the night.

The actual song itself. Check out the massive surprise on all our faces that it actually all works!

Piccies from the evening…

Be The Architect

On a late autumn evening we invited group of people to our studio The Crypt for a live playback our debut album “Architect of This Church“, to have them join us in the place we made our record and to make art make art.Be The Architect is the result of the efforts of that night: a live recording of the album, the sum of all our recorded works to date, and a book made from the hopes, wishes and writings of those who attended… all wrapped up in a beautiful leatherette box. It was an amazing evening.
