The Crypt
Home from Home
The Crypt is our home; a place where we feel very much at home… and it’s our studio. It’s where we hold some of our amazingone off events and it’s where we’ve grown into the band we’ve become.
Situated directly beneath a 19th century working church (we have to stop work for services, weddings, christenings and funerals) which earns a mention in the Bronte novels and with bells made out of cannons from the Napoleonic wars, we’ve very much come to love the place we simply call The Crypt.
If you want a look around, check out this panorama.
People seem to really like it at our place. To give you a bit of context, here’s what people say:
“Of everywhere I’ve been, the closest thing to the sound of this place is Abbey Road” – Mike Heaton, Embrace
“The best thing about this place, is You” – Sketches
Occasionally, we record other awesome artists at our place. It sounds great in there and y’know what, we’ve learned a thing or two about making records like these…
“Matador” (Acoustic) by Sky Larkin (Wichita Records)
“Charlie Don’t Surf” EP – by Rosie
‘So Short of Time’ debut EP - by David Henshaw and Joe Lawrenson
Amongst our weaponry: the tools at our disposal are changing all the time but at time of press our lovely toys include:
| Fender Twin | Vox AC30 | Fender Strat Plus |
| Two Pianos | Fender Blues Jnr. | Ampeg SVT II |
| Fender Jaguar | Epiphone Sheraton | Ampeg 8×10 cab |
| 1964 Fender Vibro Champ | Epiphone Jnr 5 Watt amp | Fender Rhodes 73 Elec Piano |
| Oodles of pedals | Plenty of Mics | Bags of enthusiasm |
Oh, and don’t be put off by it being a working church – they’re friendly types and despite being a C. of E. church welcomed us as we are Athiests, a Catholic, Pagans and Sun-Worshipers alike.
